365 days of celebration

National Cheese Doodle Day

National Cheese Doodle DayFor me today’s holiday brings back some pretty good memories from college. Most college students survive off of Ramen noodles. Not me though. I’ve always loved cheese doodles and when given the chance I would pick up a bag, and sometimes even a bucket. As a matter of fact there is only one person I know that loves cheese puffs moreso than myself, my friend Niles, which is actually rather surprising considering how picky of an eater he is.

Traditionally, cheese doodles are injested as a snack, and up until a few days ago that was the only way I knew to eat the cheesy peice of puffed corn. A few days ago while doing our research Brittany came across a site that suggested a few different ways to celebrate. We thought we would take’s advice and try out cheese doodles atop a tuna casserole. We tried to find a recipe that included the cheese doodles but weren’t very successful. Brittany finally picked out a traditional tuna casserole recipe and we decided we would do some experimenting. The recipe turned out to be extremely easy. I didn’t want to burn the cheese doodles so much that the taste was ruined so with about five minutes left I took the casserole out, placed some cheese doodles on top and put it back in the oven to cook for the remainder of the time. This actually turned out to be perfect, the cheese doodles browned just enough. Brittany and I were still pretty full from out weekly trip to Fujiya House and had a small bowl each. We still have about three quarters of a bag left of cheese doodles though and maybe before bed tonight we can have a few as a snack while we watch a movie.

Join us tomorrow as we rock out to Weird Al’s The White Stuff in celebration of Oreo Cookies Day!
