By our final episode I was in love with Mother Goose’s little chicks (in this series she was depicted as an actual ‘mother goose’, bonett and all) and their antics. And by time time we were through learning the stories of Humpty Dumpty, Baa Baa Blacksheep, Mary Mary (Quite Contrary), The Prince and the Beggars, Tommy Tucker, Little Bo Peep, and Hickory Dickory Dock, I found myslef thinking that these admittedly silly shorts are of a much better quality that most of today’s childrens’ programming. I wonder if programming like this and Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood will make a come-back, or ve re-vamped by the time I have a little one big enough to work the remote.
Tomorrow we’ll be shedding our shirts for National Skin Self-Examination Day (Melanoma Monday)!
