365 days of celebration

Towel Day

Posted by Brittany

To celebrate Douglas Adams and that most wonderful of all essentials, the towel, Chris and I carried a full-sized bath towel with us all day. I rode to work with my towel in my lap and then proudly draped it over my chair when we arrived. We even brought our towels with us when we went out to lunch, which turned out to be pretty convenient since the restaurant was a little chilly. And later in the day, when we were finally ready to head home, Chris showed up at my cubicle wearing his towel like a cape. Oddly, we made it all the way through the day without anybody asking us why we were accompanied by bath towels. Maybe they thought we were going to the gym after work, or maybe they’re just used to us doing strange stuff by now. Either way, as a fan of Douglas Adams’s creative imagination, I’d like to join the hundreds of others who have already bid him adieu:

So long, and thanks for all the fish.

Hopefully you’re lucky enough to live near a Cheesecake Factory, or an equally delicious confectioner — tomorrow is National Blueberry Cheesecake Day.
