Yum! September 12th is National Chocolate Shake Day! We explored the history of milkshakes back in June when we celebrated National Vanilla Milkshake Day, and enjoyed delicious coffee milkshakes the following month, on National Coffee Milkshake Day. So since we are all milkshake experts now, tonight’s post is going to be a truncated one. Besides, today is our 2nd wedding anniversary so Chris and I are going to keep the celebratory mood going and spend some time together!
We’ve already established that I prefer vanilla over chocolate, but there is one ice cream joint that can’t go wrong no matter what flavor they dish up: Carl’s, an ice cream stand that was established in Fredericksburg in 1947. But before we could hit up Carl’s for one of their amazing shakes, we had to get some other festivities under our belts first. Chris and I headed to Spotsylvania Mall to track down their photobooth machine — we had a photobooth at our wedding and have vowed to continue taking photobooth pictures each year on our anniversary. After that we enjoyed a tasty mexican dinner at a restaurant we hadn’t tried before. And finally, we headed to Carl’s to share an awesome chocolate shake. Delicious. It may only be our second anniversary, but it’s already going to be a hard one to top!
Tomorrow we’ll show broken mirrors and black cats who’s boss — it’s Defy Superstition Day!
